You will also learn to manage budgets, create forecasts, and record journal entries for comprehensive financial tracking. By the end of the course, you will have confidence in using advanced QuickBooks tools for accurate financial management and reporting, enhancing their ability to support business decision-making. Phlebotomy and EKG Career Path The combined Phlebotomy and EKG Technician program provides the necessary skills required to function as a vital member of the clinical laboratory team. Learn to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis, become familiar with all aspects of blood collection, and the necessary skills needed to perform venipunctures safely. Combined with EKG, the course further covers topics and processes critical to conducting and interpreting electrocardiograms (EKGs) including the anatomy and physiology of the heart, technology used such as the EKG machine, how to interpret a rhythm strip, and details of a myocardial infarction. Students who successfully complete this program are eligible to participate in an optional volunteer externship opportunity with a local company/agency/organization in order to gain valuable hands-on experience. Courses prepares students to take the leading national/industry-recognized certification exam(s) essential to entry-level employment in this fast growing field: NWCA National Certification (NWCA) Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Exam. Course includes CPR and required textbooks. Exam(s) not included in the cost of the program. Prerequisite: High School Diploma or equivalent.
