Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aide Nurse Assistant training prepares you for an entry-level career in healthcare. Training includes preparation for the State Board exam to become certified, along with certifications in Home Health Aide, CPR, and CMS Hand in Hand Dementia Training. *Clinical experience in a local nursing facility with Registered Nurse Instructors. Skills will be taught in our state-licensed lab*. Skills include vital signs, moving and turning patients, personal care basics, bed-making, bed, bath and feeding, record keeping and responding to emergencies. Open to students 16 years of age and older. Students must take and pass the State Board examination to become a Certified Nurse Assistant in the state of Massachusetts. The cost of the state exam is not included in the cost of tuition. Textbook and workbook required: Call 978-236-1200 for information. Read first four chapters in the textbook prior to the first class. Prerequisites: (1) It is strongly recommended that students take the Accuplacer Placement Exam for advising purpose. For testing information or to schedule exam please visit: https://www.northshore.edu/cas/testing/ (2) A CORI check is required. (3) Proof of immunizations and a negative TB test is required at the start of class. Nurse Assistant/Home Health AideWe are able to offer this course, free of charge, to eligible students, along with certain services and materials. Please call our office at 978-236-1200 to learn more about the course AND ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS. Nurse Assistant training prepares you for an entry-level career in healthcare. Training includes preparation for the State Board exam to become certified and issues certifications in Home Health Aide, CPR, and CMS Hand in Hand Dementia Training.
