About this course
Learn to conduct and interpret electrocardiograms (EKGs) including the anatomy and physiology of the heart, equipment technology, how to interpret a rhythm strip, and details of a myocardial infarction. Course prepares students to take the leading national/industry-recognized certification exam(s) essential to entry-level employment in this fast-growing field.

Entry and Healthcare Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Accuplacer Placement Exam, meeting the minimum Math and Reading scores, if you do not have prior college credits
CORI background check
Proof of immunizations, a negative TB test, a COVID-19 vaccine with a booster, or a drug screening may be required for certain healthcare classes.
You will receive an email from jmccloud@northshore.edu before the first class, containing the student healthcare packet. This packet must be reviewed, electronically signed, and submitted prior to the start of class.
