This course is designed to prepare non-credit ESL students for the credit ESL program. Students work on writing well-formed sentences using academic language. They also learn to apply an organizational plan in developing clear and cohesive paragraphs. Emphasis is on expanding use of academic vocabulary, writing with topic sentences, supporting details, correct verb tenses and word forms. Textbook required. Prerequisite: LLC 110-123 and ELLW 1-2, or ESL 063 C to A and ESL 061 C to A, or ESL 065 C- to D- or placement upon initial registration. Classes are offered in person on the Lynn campus. The cost of the required textbook is included in the course cost and will be automatically added to student charges.
